Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial and accounting functions for Daman Products in Mishawaka. This position will provide accurate financial information for management decisions, as well as fulfilling reporting, internal controls, and analysis requirements.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform duties related to operational accounting activities and monthly closing cycle
Support cost accounting function by performing periodic activities, as well as special project
Support Finance department by processing payroll
Collaborate with local accounting staff to support financial planning & analysis initiatives
Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of processes and consistency of documentation supporting the reporting and planning processes
Support of financial and SOX audits for the site, including review of any active remediations being performed as needed
Collaborate with other finance staff at sister companies to ensure compliance with all regulations and accounting principles
Assist with budget and forecast preparation and tracking
Complete other special projects and responsibilities as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience
Knowledge of general accounting and cost accounting principles including GAAP
Experience with preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections
2-5 years of experience in the finance and accounting function of a manufacturing company or public accounting firm preferred
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to plan, manage time well, make decisions, and maintain confidentiality
