Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for processing orders, accepting incoming shipments, shipping and receiving duties to satisfy the needs of customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the logistics of customers' orders: e. stocking, picking and packing
- Accepts, verifies, inspects and records all deliveries according to policy
- Use of Customer portals to execute shipments
- Use of the 'sureship' program to schedule both parcel and LTL shipments
- Picks customer orders as requested for shipment, while following customer requirements
- Track incoming and outgoing products to help keep an accurate running inventory.
- Responsible for ensuring that all inventory for resale as required is identified and traceable from receipt and acceptance through delivery to the customer
- Operating a forklift to load and unload material as needed is a safe manner
- Responsible for reporting any inventory discrepancies to supervisor so they can be investigated
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of the warehouse to promote safety by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements as needed
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Assist in determining, along with senior management, where improvements are required and recommending the corrective action when necessary
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Must be a certified forklift operator or will be required to pass a forklift training course
- Must be able to operate a scanner gun.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Education and Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma preferred
- Experience in a warehouse manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience using a hand scanner gun is a plus
- Experience utilizing a forklift is a plus
- Current/Past forklift certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, bending, and carrying
- Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to bend and reach above head as needed
